What Is Carpooling?
Carpooling is when two or more people share a ride to work, school, or another common destination in a single vehicle. Participants typically take turns driving or share commuting costs such as fuel and parking. By reducing the number of vehicles on the road, carpooling helps decrease traffic congestion, lower transportation costs, and improve air quality.
What Is Vanpooling?
Vanpooling is a shared commuting option designed for groups of people who travel similar routes. A van, typically seating 7–15 passengers, is used to transport commuters to and from work. Vanpools are ideal for longer-distance commutes and are often organized through employers or regional transportation programs. Participants share the monthly cost of operating the van, making it an affordable and convenient alternative to driving alone.
